Wir haben ein Experiment gewagt und uns über drei Saisons hinweg mit den grossen Themen WERDEN – SEIN – VERGEHEN auseinandergesetzt. Die Saison 24/25 ist die dritte und letzte Station dieses Dreischrittes und widmet sich ganz dem VERGEHEN. Als Zeitkunst ist die Musik oberste Fürsprecherin der Vergänglichkeit. Erklingen und Verklingen, Werden und Vergehen liegen in dieser Kunstform beieinander. Im Konzert können flüchtige Schallwellen zum Erlebnis werden und einmalige emotionale Reaktionen hervorrufen. Ein Feingespür für die menschliche Gefühlswelt hatte Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Seine «Jupiter-Sinfonie» und sein Requiem gehören zu den Hauptwerken der Saison. Auch Gustav Mahlers «Lied von der Erde» kreist um das Thema Vergänglichkeit. Der letzte Satz, «Abschied», ist ein auskomponiertes Entschwinden in die Ewigkeit.
